Having had serious problems with our digestive systems, Jatina and I have been looking again into improving our health via nutrition. To that end, we've been reading up on the GAPS diet, and returning again to Sally Fallon and Mary Enig's wonderful book, "Nourishing Traditions" -- a fascinating book, even if you're only interested in tradition and historical data on the diets of people worldwide.
Now the one thing both talk about a lot is Fermenting Your Foodstuffs. They stress how humans do better when a good hunk of the stuff we eat falls under "controlled spoilage".
Don't get me wrong, I'm on-board with that. But over coffee a while ago, thinking about possibly trying to ferment fish, I suddenly had the disquieting thought Mr. Bigfoot had in this comic. ((shudders))
Ah well, if it makes ya well ...
